some of you may remember the "you & me" notebook i made up for me and Jada to write notes back and forth to each other in.
well, it has been fantastic and we both love it.
because we've had builders in, i'd put the notebook in my bedside cabinet to avoid the dust. it turns out Jada had been desperately looking for it and left this note by my bed when i went to bed a few nights ago:
JR and i had a good giggle at the drama of our girl-child.
hehe.
for those of you who began a 'you & me' notebook, how is it working out? i'd love to hear.

Dee,
ReplyDeleteI so love the "you and me" notebook idea and I can't wait to write in one with Audrey.
You should keep a few of those cute dramatic notes of Jada's around for keepsakes. I wrote similar notes to my parents and they saved some of mine. They are hilarious to look back on! I brought my favorite one with me to NZ.
I signed it "Talia the mad and sad girl". I think I was like 7. Very dramatic.
My parents still call me that and they crack up every time. Yeesh.

I was already saving up the idea of a you and me book to use in the future, but seeing just how important it has become for Jada makes me even more determined to do it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for another inspiring idea Dee!
Oh that is so sweet!! We began one too and love it so much!! It's so special and has really helped in many areas. Daddy also wanted to get in on the fun, so he started using the back of the book to write his notes. Super cute and such a great idea.
ReplyDeleteteehee, too cute - we have had them here for a while now, and both girls like them - but differently - Nyah will write novels (like 4 pages last one) with big dramatic words and billions of kisses etc, and Josaye will often write 2 lines, and intermittedly....both are so very sweet and so very them - we love it. I also keep a family grafteful journal...tis cool!
ReplyDeleteCool Idea! What kind of things do you put in the book? Pictures/photos/notes?

I started it with my seven year old after being inspired by you. And she loves it too! I love writing little encouraging notes about her character etc. I hope when she is a teenager she can look back and absorb it more. Great idea
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely idea :-)
ReplyDeleteI love that she really misses it too!
Cute :-)
I started one with Anya (8) & she was SO stoked. She's a 'middle' child so it has been a very special way of sharing things, especially as she is the quietest of the 5 & tends to be a bit left out :( xxxxx
ReplyDeleteThis note is so so precious. As you know, the book is in our future. But this note, oh man...bless her!
ReplyDeleteI"m going to have to remember to do this when my kids get older. My son isn't that much of a share-er so this would be perfect
ReplyDeleteOh man I SO need to get my A into G and get this started with Belle. She leaves me love notes everywhere all day long! I know she would absolutely love this. Must. Stop. Procrastination. Tomorrow. ;)
ReplyDeleteoh tooo cute!
