  1. Those are the sweetest things ever!!

My favourite valentines day memory was when I received a beautiful red rose at my work, then a few minutes later received a yellow one... I started freaking a little that I had two admirers but thankfully the first was the wrong colour and they were replacing it with the right colour!!

  2. I LOVE these!! I was just looking at some cushions just like these on a blog, funny :)

I'm not real big on valentines day. I have a horrendous memory in 5th form of my boyfriend buying me a gigantic card..talking HUGE! and this so so sooooo revolting soft toy of 2 mice cuddling or kissing, they were white with one of those "i love you" red hearts n the middle and it looked like something you might win at a side show and I can not stand stuff like that. I was too embarrassed to carry it all home so I hid it in my art room for months until my male art teacher asked me politely to take the things home.!!
I remember all my boyfriends friends thinking it was so sweet of him to do and they all thought I was a mega cow for not loving it...shudder.

Best memory was hub coming home one day with a CD of the Carpenters (yes my un cool love. Not usually something we celebrate so it was a great surprise :)

ummmm you wanted an essay right?

  3. I am so hooked on your blog! Thanks for the inspiration to CREATE things!

Two memories come to mind, the first was when I was about 7 years old and my mother surprised me with a little stuffed dog named "Taffy" at my bedside for me to find when I woke. The other was last year making some really cool Valentine's collage decorations with my daughter(which we are hanging back up today).
....I have others with my husband, too, like the one before we had kids when we spent a very romantic weekend in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Please don't publish my email, Thanks!

  4. Hi there - they are just GORGEOUS!

Probably the one that stands out the most was years ago when I was flatting and had been moaning to my flatmates that I had never received a valentines card in my life. They took upon themselves to send out 50-60 valentines day cards to friends with a covering letter asking them to write a specific message on it from a secret admirer and post it back in time for Valentines - so sweet, I have still got them all! They were arriving for days and days ;-)!

Then my first one after hubby and I got married, we're not big into it - but he got me a card and spent ages thinking of the right thing to say... I have kept that one also, as the message was very special!

  6. Oooh! Gorgeous!

My favourite valentines day was when my boyfriend at the time surprised me by taking me to dinner at a great wee italian restaurant. Would love to say it was hubby, but he's just not the romantic type :-( Ah well, he has other virtues ;-)

  7. SO SO COOL.

Best valentines day...was probably the year after I broke up with my first love and felt a bit sad on valentines that I wouldnt be on the receiving end of anything. I was presented a beautiful bouquet of hand picked flowers and a kiss from my Dad who had written me a card saying happy valentines day bunny (nickname) you are a woman of value.
It was my most special valentines ever.

  9. Wow those cards are cool! I have a not so great memory of saving some chocolate to give to a boy when I was 5 or 6, he ate it up and never spoke to me again, my little heart was broken :(

  10. Okay, this isn't a valentines memory but a love story of my hubby's wonderful grandparents. Our dear poppa passed away yesterday, unexpectedly and very suddenly 11 months after the passing of his darling wife, 3 days before what would have been their 66th wedding anniversary and the first, without her. They were so beautiful and they have taught their family the meaning of true love, marriage, family and faith. This valentines, I will remember john and June Spratt, at last, reunited xxx (Jennie) (1uselesprincess)

  12. They are very sweet!

We don't "do" valentines day...but on the Valentines Day 5 days before our wedding, my husband bought me the most beautiful children's book "Never too little to love". It is a gorgeous story about a Mouse and a giraffe who are in love, and the mouse's efforts to try and get tall enough to give his Giraffe love a kiss...so sweet xx

  13. My husband and I are just having a discussion about Valentines day and I think there was one year that he brought me some flowers on the way home, however he has just come home from a long trip and he wrote me a cute little note on lined refill paper and i think that it is actually quite special as it was spontaneous so ill take that for my valentines this year ! how could you send those postcards ? they def need to framed.

  14. I think I'm too late for the givaway, but I had to comment and ooh and ahhh over those awesome postcards! I LOVE them! What a fabulous idea! Makes me wish I knew how to sew. BTW- Husband and I don't do the Valentine's thing, but my best memory is of when I told him, while we were dating that I hated Valentine's Day. He looked so happy/relieved/awestruck. I swear he decided right then and there that we were meant for each other.
